REVIEW:
A beautiful old building broken into various smaller rooms and shady front courtyard that - as The Manse - was one of Adelaides finest dining experiences for several years, is now Ruby Red Flamingo ... a "pop-up" Italian restaurant. Not a "pop-up" in the normal sense but, as explained to me, there is no permanent lease. So they are there as long as it works and the landlord is happy receiving rent on such a basis. It's cheap and cheerful and the menu changes regularly with daily/weekly specials that are probably the best on offer. It's hearty, arguably under-seasoned, decent Italian food that is cheap in any terms. And it's the place to be in Adelaide at the moment!
WINE : When you call the message advises they are a no-bookings, BYO restaurant; but there is a wine list. Perhaps it's one they are (deservedly) not proud enough to declare. Take the BYO option ... you'll be glad you did.
