Pee Wee's has been purpose designed to cater for functions: from meetings, small parties, cocktails on the lawn overlooking the sea to substantial weddings and promotions.
Food quality maintains a high standard.

Pee Wee's Restaurant and function complex is situated at the magnificent beachfront location of East Point Reserve, four kilometres from Darwin's city centre and features spectacular, unobstructed views over Darwin Harbour.

Open seven days a week for dinner (and lunch from May to October), Pee Wee's superb a la carte dining offers Australian Creole cuisine - complemented by a hand picked wine list - in a relaxed, open air atmosphere.

Pee Wee's is a splendid building designed to make the most of the magnificent view across the harbour. Surrounded on three sides by natural vine forest and fronting the sea, the ambience is extremely relaxing. Guests can choose to sit inside, outside on the deck, on the patio or on the lawn - all only metres from the beach.

Pee Wee's also offers a comprehensive function centre. Sole use of the complex is available and groups can be catered for breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, lunch and dinner. With spectacular unobstructed views over the bay and back to Darwin city, it provides an excellent venue for small conferences, meetings, functions, weddings, BBQs, cocktail parties, theme and gala dinners.

Directors and management of Pee Wee's have been involved in the travel and hospitality industry for many years and have experience in the successful running of many special events. Use our experience to make your next function a great success!

Pee Wee's is rich in history and was built on a site known as Pee Wee Camp. The camp was established between 1932 and 1934 to house construction workers as there was a general shortage of accommodation around Darwin. It grew to at least 18 buildings by 1945 housing approximately 10 families until the late 60's, with one family remaining until 1986.

Pee Wee Camp is listed by the Australian Heritage Commission as 'culturally significant' and care has been taken not to disturb the remaining buildings on site.

Pee Wee Camp was probably named after a bird more correctly known as the Magpie Lark (grallina cyanoleuca). This is one of the more familiar birds in Australia, also known as a Mudlark, Peewit or a Murray Magpie. They're usually found in open areas and near water. The common name of 'Pee Wee' is based on the sound of its call. The Magpielark usually nests on a horizontal limb of a tree, near water and often close to the engaging Willie Wagtail. They breed from July to January.
