REVIEW:
Named for the peregrine falcons that live in the vineyard, and the ridgeline that defines it, Peregrine Ridge is ideally situated high on the northern slopes of Mount Camel in the central zone of the extensive Heathcote appellation. Planted exclusively to shiraz, and sparingly watered with crops restricted to less than 3 tonnes per hectare, the grapes are hand-picked, hand-sorted and fermented in small parcels. Most are aged in French oak but a few parcels considered suitable are aged in American oak, and released as a separate cuvee.
The emphasis on quality fruit results in elegant, but intensely flavoured, wines that have the ability to age to great benefit.

There are plans for a cellar door probably late in 2011.
