REVIEW:
Home of The Gorge and Pothana labels made by David Hook from his family vineyard at Belford in the lower Hunter Valley.
While the Pothana label sticks to the Hunter classics of shiraz and semillon (as well as chardonnay), the value The Gorge label stretches further to include the Italian varieties pinot grigio and barbera, viognier from the Rhone and more.

Peppers Creek Winery is the home of David Hook Wines. In a relaxed garden setting, Peppers Creek is a rare find with it's provincial sandstone buildings, eclectic shops, cafe and winery. The winery provides a unique experience in the Hunter Valley. While tasting the hand crafted wines you can observe a traditional small winery at work.

One of the district's unique small wineries, the charming sandstone cellar door is open daily for wine tasting and sales of Pothana and The Gorge wines. They specialise in single vineyard wines made from the Hunters traditional varieties of Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz as well as emerging grape varieties such as Viognier, Pinot Grigio and Barbera.

The vineyards were established over 20 years ago and are now fully mature producing excellent high quality fruit from low yielding vines.
